Sports Day 11th July 2024

It was unlike any previous years, but we did manage to have our 2020 Sports Day(s)!

To comply with Covid guidance, we introduced various measures:

  • Only three year groups competed at a time (years 1, 2 & 3 together, then years 4, 5 & 6).
  • Within those year groups, each half-class bubble was on a different day.
  • We left empty lanes between runners for the track events.
  • All equipment (vortexes, relay batons, eggs and spoons) were cleaned with anti-bacterial wipes between races.
  • Sadly we were unable to invite friends and family to watch, or to have the traditional picnic afterwards.

Despite all this, we were able to have a great time and the children all competed fiercely but fairly across a full range of events, supporting and encouraging each other throughout:

  • Sprint, hurdles, standing long jump, vortex throw, egg ‘n’ spoon, relay and long distance race.

On Wednesday 15th, we were able to bring both year 6 bubbles together for the overall sprint final. Congratulations to the fastest boy and girl in the school, Nathan Winter and Neve Rugette.
