Acorns is an afternoon provision for children aged two to four years. It runs daily from 12:30 to 15:30. Children attend a minimum of two afternoons a week and the vast majority of children progress into our Nursery class in the September following their third birthday. The price per session is £16.50.
In addition Acorns offers our Nursery children an extended session from 11:45 to 15:30 or a lunch session from 11:45 until 12:30 . The rates for these sessions are as follows:

Parents should apply to the school for an Acorns place once their child has reached 18 months or more. Acorns is very popular and parents are encouraged to put their child on our Expression of Interest List. Places are offered each September, and again at the start of the Spring term if there is availability.

You could be eligible for 15 hours per week free childcare for two year olds if you are receiving one of the following: income support; income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance; income-related Employment and Support Allowance; support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999; the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit; Child Tax Credit, provided you are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190, as assessed by HM Revenue and Customs; Working Tax Credit and earning less than £16,190 a year. Your child will also be eligible if they have a current statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) or an Education, Health and Care Plan and/or they receive Disability Living Allowance. In addition all looked after children and children who have left care through special guardianship or an adoption or residence order will be eligible.

We have 30 places available in our extremely popular Nursery class. Nursery children have access to our affordable, on-site, wrap around care (from 07:45-18:00).
The majority of our nursery children transfer to Reception the following year.
Applications can be made any time after your child's 2nd birthday by contacting the school office: info@srsa.richmond.sch.uk.
The deadline for applications for September 2021 is 5th March, 2021. You will be notified of the outcome of your application by 7th May, 2021.
The application deadline for Reception places in September 2021 is 15th January, 2021. Applications must be made online. Click on the link below to do this.
You will receive the outcome of your online application during the evening of 16th April 2021. You must accept or decline the place offered by 30th April. You will then be invited to our Reception Induction Meeting.
