This week's story is called The Koala who Could by Rachel Bright. Listen along as Jo reads the story and try some of the activities linked to the story.

ACTIVITY 1 - HABITATS, WHERE DO I LIVE?

 Watch the animal habitats video then have a go at sorting out the animals into their different habitats. What is your habitat? Where do you live? There is even an animal homes song you can learn!

ACTIVITY 2 - MAKE A KOALA FOR LUNCH!

Have a go at this simple recipe to make a koala lunch. Be as creative as you like and use whatever food you have at home. You could even try to make other animals. Maybe you could try and make a different animal for lunch each day!

ACTIVITY 3 - MINI-BEAST HUNT

Go on a mini-beast hunt and see how many mini-beasts you can find. You can use the sheet to tick off the mini-beasts you see or make your own sheet!

ACTIVITY 4 - MAKE A HABITAT

Have a go at making a habitat for an animal or mini-beast. You could make it from grass, stones, sticks, leaves, dirt. Take a picture and send it to Jo!

ACTIVITY 5 - FEELINGS

Talk about how Kevin the Koala was feeling in the story. How did he feel at the beginning? How did he feel at the end? Why did his feelings change at the end? Have a look at the picture cards. How do you think each child is feeling? Can you make these faces? Try looking in the mirror and making different feeling faces!

ACTIVITY 6 - FEELINGS GAME

Make the feelings dice. Roll the dice. Look at the feeling and say what it is and say something that makes you feel that way. eg The dice lands on happy. I feel happy when I play with my friends. 

NURSERY RHYMES OF THE WEEK

Try and sing some of these nursery rhymes during the week:

  • If you're happy, happy, happy
  • I went to visit the farm one day
  • I'm going to the zoo
