This week's story is Monkey Puzzle by Julia Donaldson. Listen along as Jo reads the story. See if you can join in with the rhyming words. Try some of the activities linked to the story.

ACTIVITY 1 - MATCHING ADULTS TO BABIES

Cut out the animals and match the babies to their adult.

ACTIVITY 2 - JUNGLE ART

Make some jungle art. You could use different coloured paper to make a collage, make a painting or use your hand, feet and finger prints to create different animals.

ACTIVITY 3 - ELEPHANT CRAFT

Make an elephant using a milk container. decorate it anyway you want. Be as creative as you like!

ACTIVITY 4 - WHO AM I?

Guess the animals from their description. See if you can make up your own and share them with Jo to guess.

ACTIVITY 5 - EXTENDING SENTENCES

Look at the pictures and match them up. Ask 'why' questions for each pair of pictures. Say a sentence using 'because' to explain what is happening. 

ACTIVITY 6 - VOCABULARY BUILDING GAMES

Name 5 things games.

ACTIVITY 7- JIGSAW PUZZLES

Have a go at doing some jigsaw puzzles at home or try some animal tangrams. Colour in the tangrams to make them bright and colourful.

ACTIVITY 8- NURSERY RHYMES

Sing some animal nursery rhymes this week. 

 

- 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed

- 5 little ducks

- 5 little speckled frogs
