What do the PTFA do?
The PTFA help raise awareness of our role in, and responsibility to, the wider local community. We also fundraise in order to support the school in a variety of different ways, as well as for charity.
We hold a meeting at the start of every half-term. Everyone is welcome and a free crèche is provided. No idea is too big or too small to bring to a meeting.
Events include annual school fairs, cake sales, curry nights, mufti days, comedy evenings, quiz nights, gardening days, a St Richard's community choir, 'Battle of the Bands' evenings etc...
Every parent is automatically a member of the PTFA and expected to make a contribution, no matter how big or small.
The Senior Leaders at St Richard's organised and ran a very successful fair in conjunction with members of the PTFA. We raised nearly £3,000 for school funds, including £650 from our first online auction organised and run by Mrs Sian Murphy, our Deputy Head Teacher.
A great way for the PTFA to raise funds without really doing anything… There are over 3,000 shops and sites on board ready to make a donation, including Amazon, John Lewis, Aviva, The Trainline and Sainsbury's – and it won't cost you a penny extra. Loads of other schools have joined and are making it count.
After you sign up and buy online - from a weekly shop to a holiday – you collect free donations for the PTFA.
