Ofsted

On the 1st and 2nd November 2023 we welcomed Ofsted to our school. We are delighted with the outcome.

Please see a letter from our Vice- Chair of Governors below and a copy of the report itself:

1st December 2023

Dear Parents/Carers,
It is with great pleasure that we can now share with you the report following our recent Ofsted Inspection on 1st and 2nd November 2023.

The inspector carried out a detailed and rigorous inspection, including deep dives into various subjects, lesson visits, discussions with staff and pupils, meetings with school leaders and scrutiny of children’s work. He also talked to governors and external agencies, and reviewed what
parents, staff and pupils said about St Richard’s, as well as looking at documentation provided by the school.

Ofsted concluded that St Richard’s CE Primary School continues to be a GOOD school.

If you read the report you’ll see that the inspector was extremely positive about our school, our staff and your children. The governors are exceptionally proud of all the staff and pupils, and the school leadership team in particular. They were well prepared for the inspection, and everyone related well to the inspector during his visit. As you can read, he was particularly complimentary about the children’s behaviour.

The report highlights two areas for improvement, which our leadership team were already aware of, and these will be a focus for improvement in our continuing work to make our school the best it can be. We consider this report an excellent achievement, and one we should all be proud of.

Governors are very confident that as we work together, staff, leaders, governors, pupils and our whole school community, we will continue to make St Richard’s a ‘calm, friendly and welcoming school’, where ‘leaders and staff aspire for all pupils to achieve their best and pupils rise to these high expectations.’

Should you have any queries or concerns, we would urge you to contact the school who can direct you to the relevant person, to discuss any matters further.

Yours sincerely

Revd. Simon Coupland
Vice Chair of Governors
