THIS WEEK'S LEARNING 

 

English:

The children have been reading the story Cave Baby by Julia Donaldson. This week we will be focusing on the use of capital letters and full stops in sentences. Children will be writing their own sentences and punctuating them correctly. Children will also begin writing multi-clause sentences using the conjunction and. 

 

Phonics:

This week we will be recapping the ss phoneme (Phase 3 Letters and Sounds), as well as looking at adjacent consonants (Phase 4 Letters and Sounds). 

 

Maths:

In maths we will be counting forwards and backwards from 20 and counting one more and one less for numbers within 10. 

 

Big Picture:

We will be drawing self portraits and discussing how we change as we grow older. 

 

RE:

We will be reading the parable 'The Good Samaritan' from The Bible and discussing the importance of kindness.
