THIS WEEK'S LEARNING 

English:

This week we will start a new book - 'Sidney, Stella and the Moon' by Emma Yarlett. In lessons children will be discussing facts they already know about the moon and writing simple sentences. Children will be challenged to use adjectives to describe the moon. Children will also begin to write their own sentences using the conjunction because using modelled writing from the board (I would make a new moon out of ________ because ______.) 

Phonics:

This week we are recapping the consonant diagraphs - ch, sh, th (Phase 3 Letters and Sounds). 

Maths:

In maths we will be comparing objects and numbers using the vocabulary greater than, less than and equal to. Children will be introduced to the symbols (greater than > , less than < , equal to =). 

Big Picture: All About Me

We will be continuing our self portraits and other art/craft activities to represent ourselves. 

RE:

We will be recapping the parable The Good Samaritan and children will be sequencing the story.
