THIS WEEK'S LEARNING

English:

This week we will be continuing our work on Percy Jackson, we will need to read a good chunk of the book this week so we make sure we finish by half term! We will be reminding ourselsves how to uplevel sentences using expanded noun phrases, fronted adverbials and relative clauses. We will also be researching Greek Gods to help with our writing nerxt week. This week in spelling we will be doing a dictation to see how confident we are about spelling words with silent letters. We will be reading about Medusa and Pandora.

Maths:

We had a slight change of plan for maths last week as I felt we needed to focus a little longer on addition and subtraction problems.  I will therefore post the extra lessons we did last week along with the statistics lessons for this week.

Big Picture:

On Monday, we will be learning about modern day Greece, its geography, climate and culture.  On Wednesday, Mrs McKenna is back to teach us to make and evaluate Greek food.

RE:

We will be looking at the features of churches and how they reflect the Christian understanding of God.

Science:

In Science we will be concluding our study of forces by looking at different types of mechanisms and then inventing our own!
