THIS WEEK'S LEARNING 

English:

This week we are starting a new book called 'Naughty Bus' by Jan Oke. Children will be making simple predictions using clues, writing simple sentences (using finger spaces, capital letters and full stops), using adjectives to describe a setting and creating a storyboard with pictures and captions.

Phonics:

This week we will be recapping the sounds: igh, oa, oo (long), oo (short) (Phase 3 Letters and Sounds).

Maths:

In maths, the children will be introduced to the concept of 'whole' (one whole object) and develop an understanding of the word 'part' (a portion of a whole object). A whole object can be split into two or more parts in many different ways. The parts might look different; each part will be smaller than the whole, and the parts can be combined to make the whole.

We will also be looking at the addition symbol and finding fact families (addition facts).

We will be exploring our senses by going on a sense journey outside.
