Spark! Book Awards 2021

We took part in the first evet Spark! Richmond & Kingston Children's Book Award. The only awards chosen by Richmond & Kingston Primary school children.  We read the shortlisted books in reading panels, in class, on World Book Day, and watched live online talks from the authors. Then in May, we voted and in June joined the live awards ceremony - and were even involved in the winners announcements. The final winners were:

 

Ages 4-7  Avocado Asks by Momoko Abe

Ages 7-9  LLama Out Loud by Kereen Getten

Ages 9-11 The Voyage of the Sparrowhawk by Natasha Farrant

The awards introduced us to some great new authors & books  - all now in our libraries - and started lots of book chat around the school. We're really looking forward to the next one!
