PHONICS

For the remaining weeks of the term have a go at learning the last three sounds. You can also go back and rewatch videos of the other sounds, play the Busy Things games to practise recognising the phonemes learnt so far and practise writing the phonemes we have covered.

ACTIVITY 1 - FORMING LETTERS

Have a go at practsing writing the phonemes. You can also practise the other phonemes we have done so far: s,a,t,p,i,n,m

ACTIVITY 2 - BUSY THINGS GAMES

Play the Busy things phonics games to practise recognising the phonemes we have learnt so far. Try the games in Letters and their sounds to practise recognising phonemes.Try the blending and segmenting games to start to sound out each sound in cvc words. Try to blend the sounds together to read the words.

 

ACTIVITY 3 - PHONEME ART

Draw, paint or cut out pictures that start with a particular phoneme. For example you could make a picture using only words that start with 'd'. If you want a SUPER CHALLENGE make a 'phoneme' picture for each of the phonemes we have learnt so far!

ACTIVITY 4 - PLAYDOUGH SOUNDS

Use playdough to make the letter shapes or things that start with a particular phoneme. You could even try to make the letters of your name out of playouogh!

Out of playdough make something that starts with each letter of your name.

Jo could make a jar of jam for 'j' and an 'orange' for 'o'!

ACTIVITY 5 - SOUND HUNT

Go for a sound hunt around your house or garden. Can you find objects that start with the phonemes we have learnt so far: s,a,t,p,i,n,m,d,g,o
