THIS WEEK'S LEARNING 

English:

This week we will be starting our new book Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. We will look at the characters and learn what a soliloquy is.

In guided Reading we will be looking at myths of the Ancient Greek Gods, Poseidan, Aphrodite and Hermes. We will be reading the story of Narcissus and answering some questions about the story.

In spelling we will look at some key words we need for our new book and discuss spelling words with silent letters.

Maths:

In maths we will finish our study of place value by learning about negative numbers and Roman numerals then we will learning to add numbers with 4-digits and more with one and more exchanges.

Science:

We will be continuing to look at forces.  Our focus this week is air-resistance and we will be planning and carrying out an experiment to find out how the falling speed of a parachute is affected by changing different variables.

RE:

We will be Learning what the story of the prodigal son tells Christians about what God is like.

Big Picture:

In Big Picture we are learning about the Olympic Games in Ancient Greece and learning about some Ancient Greek philosophers and scientists.
