THIS WEEK'S LEARNING 

English:

This week we will carrying on with our book, 'The Arrival' by Shaun Tan. We will try to get into the mindset of the main character by using drama and freeze frames. We will learn how to use the active and passive voice as well as expanded sentences to help us construct the diary entry at the end of the week.

In reading, we will carry on with chapters from 'The Fastest Boy in the World' by Elizabeth Laird, answering questions about what we have read. We will focus on inference, using the text to justify our opinions.

Maths:

In maths we will finish off long multiplication and being recapping division from previous years. We will then start long division.

Big Picture:

We will look at the tribes who still live in the Amazon Rainforest and look at their lives and how they are different from our own. We will also look at the Rio Carnival and make our own headdresses.
