THIS WEEK'S LEARNING 

 

English:

This week we will planning and start to write our own narrative based on the book, 'The Unforgotten Coat' by Frank Cottrell Boyce. We will be including dialogue to show that we know the rules of dialogue and trying to include different lengths of sentences. We will also be trying to include adventurous vocabulary.

 

Maths:

In maths we will using the column method for both addition and subtraction with numbers up to 6 digits and applying this method to solve multi-step word problems.

 

Big Picture:

We will be starting our new topic on Brazil. We will look at what we already know about Brazil, then focus on the 2016 Olympics and how it benefited (or did not benefit) everyone. 

 

RE:

We will be looking at what sacrifice means through the Buddhist story of 'The Monkey King'. We will then write our own short story about sacrifice. 

 

Science:

In Science we will be looking at the refraction of light.
