THIS WEEK'S LEARNING 

English:

This week we will carrying on with our text, 'The Arrival' by Shaun Tan. We will look at chapter 3 and infer the story the man is telling us. We will then write our versions of what happens with the giants in the book.

In guided reading, we will carry on with 'The Fastest Boy in the World' and read chapters 14, 15 and 16.

In spelling, we will learn how to add suffixes to words beginning with vowel sounds which end in 'fer'.

Maths:

In maths we will learning how to use the long division method and applying it to word problems. We will also continue to have arithmetic practice. 

Big Picture:

We will be finishing off our Brazil project. We will look at the bigger picture of Brazil and what it does for the rest of the world. We will also look at Rio Carnival and make our own headdresses.

RE:

We will be continuing with our new topic about Creation and Science and whether it can ever complement each other or if it always contradicts each other.

Science:

In Science we will conclude our study of light, by looking at how shadows are formed an creating our own shadow puppets.
