Last week, the Year 6's and I did some really cool surrealist artwork that I thought you would enjoy too.
We made surrealist portraits out of cardboard, layering the face shape to make the eyes, nose, hair and mouth. Then we painted them with bright colours and quirky patterns. This type of 3D art is called relief. They were quite simple to do and look very effective! If you make one, I would love to see it!
This week is the Barnes Literature festival. Lots of famous authors will be doing live q&as, introducing new books, or doing storytelling sessions. All the sessions are free, you just need to sign up for them in advance.

You might enjoy the live session with Frank Cottrell-Boyce, who wrote Broccoli Boy. His 45 minute session is on Friday 12th June in the afternoon.
