Collective Worship

At St Richard’s collective worship is a key part of the school day, either in the school hall, St Richard’s Church or the classroom.  It reflects the Christian vision and ethos of our school, and the good news message that God is love and wants to be in relationships with people, while at the same time recognising that our community includes those of a range of faiths and none. All children are equally valued, included and invited to participate: our aim is to be inclusive, informative and also inspirational.

Collective worship offers a balance between celebration and reflection.  It might include music of different styles and cultures, poetry, stories, pictures, dance, drama, video, quizzes, silence, and prayer.  The aim is to include interaction, foster engagement, and encourage a personal response.

Our weekly pattern of worship is as follows:

Day Worship Time Worship Leader
Monday Clergy-led Worship in church 10.10am Rev. Simon Coupland
