Learning at St Richard’s
Here at St Richard’s we believe learning has to be fun and that education is about the development of the whole person. We know that it is during the primary school years that children establish good learning habits, develop a love of learning (or not!) and begin to recognise their own strengths and weaknesses. We aim to provide an exciting environment where children learn through first-hand experience and play, and start to take responsibility for their own learning.
We aim for all children to maximise their potential by consistently making better than expected progress, whatever their starting point.
We foster a love of learning through a diverse, creative indoor and outdoor curriculum, strong personal relationships and a calm environment.
We believe that everyone is a learner and that education is a life long journey. This is modelled by our staff, all of whom undertake continuous professional development.
We have spent time thinking about exactly what our community of learners need and how best to achieve this. For more information about our curriculum intent and how we implement the Early Years and National Curriculums at St Richard's see the Early Years and Year 1-6 Curriculum pages.
