Our school choir joined voices with other Richmond schools at this annual festival. They had learned Makaton signs to accompany one of the songs and took part enthusiastically.
Several of our Hong Kong families celebrated together at the home of one of our school governors, Candy Liu, to welcome in the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit. Chinese New Year 2023 fell on Sunday January 22nd and celebrations culminated with the Lantern Festival on Sunday February 5th.
Thanks to the generosity of the churches in Ham and Petersham, both congregations and individuals, and supported by local scouting families, this year we were able to put together 83 boxes full of Christmas joy on Saturday morning. That's eleven more than last year! What's more, each box contained a Sainsbury's voucher for £25 rather than last year's £20, because we're conscious that everyday food costs more this winter. The boxes are already going out to the families who have been identified by our four local schools - St Richard's, Meadlands, The Russell and Grey Court - as especially deserving of a treat this Christmas. So THANK YOU to all who contributed - your donation made a real difference.
Thank you too to the fantastic group of volunteers who gave up their Saturday morning to come into school to pack the boxes. Particular thanks to Abi and Dave Sayers who organised the purchase and delivery of all the food, in itself a major task given the quantities involved. We very much hope to do the same thing again next year and who knows? Maybe we'll be able to bless even more local families in 2023!
A huge thank you to St Richard's and St Thomas Aquinas Churches for your continued support with food and monetary donations for our food bank.
Thank you to schools in our local borough who collected donations at Christmas time and delivered them to our door. Thank you to..

Thank you to the Ham and Petersham Association and Amenities Group for the generous grant donation.
Community spirit is still very much alive and we are extremely grateful.
A FOOD STORE BASED AT ST RICHARD’S FOR THE ST RICHARD’S COMMUNITY
On Tuesday 8th November, we opened our food store for anyone who finds themselves in need in the Ham community. These are difficult times for many families and we wanted to recognise and support people in the local area.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you need any food or toiletries. Either drop by the school office, call on 020 8940 7911 or email arice@srsa.richmond.sch.uk
On Thursday 3rd October we celebrated our second official event to celebrate the diversity of languages spoken across our community. Families from the school and the wider community came together to enjoy each other's food, languages and cultures. We were entertained by some wonderful performers and spent time getting to know each other better. Take a look at the slide show of photos below...
